It’s hard to imagine what it’s like to live under the daily fear of death and torture for following Jesus.
This is an experience we don’t face in Australia, although we know that there are many others around the world for whom this fear is real.
As we near the end of our series in Revelation we see the ultimate day of judgement, when Jesus judges all the people of the world, including Satan and his minions.
For those of us who do not see the blatant effects of the rule of Satan through the persecution of believers, we can be less enthusiastic about cheering with the multitude in Heaven when Satan and his followers are judged and sentenced to eternal punishment.
But when we see things through the eyes of Jesus, we will see that justice brings glory to God… which is something worth cheering about.
And so we pray that Jesus would come and judge the living and the dead, and bring ultimate justice to this world that has turned against the Lord.
Come, Lord Jesus, Come!
