Church news for the week beginning 22nd April 2018

Today’s Bible talk

Today we welcome Graham Errington, who will be speaking on the topic “Shrewd As” from Luke chapter 16 verses 1 to 15.

Anzac Day March

Join the community of Oak Flats to watch the march from our carpark down to the Bowling Club. The march beings at 9am on Anzac Day, Wednesday 25th April, followed by a service at the club which our church will be represented by a prayer from Jodie and the the laying of a wreath by Simon and Jodie.

Children’s and youth programs in holidays

During school holidays our normal children’s and youth programs take a break until 6th May. We will be running a light holiday program during our 5pm service for the next two weeks. Parents and carers are required to accompany their children for the whole service, then during the bible talk, the children will attend a combined program.

McNeill’s away

Jodie and his family are on leave until the 24th April.

Office arrangements for holidays

Valerie will be absent from the office from Tuesday 17th April to Wednesday 25th April. In the meantime, our other staff will be monitoring our church phone and emails.

Men’s Dinner

Our next Men’s Dinner will be held on Tuesday 1st May at 6.30pm at the Central Hotel Shellharbour, with guest speaker, Marshall Ballantine-Jones on the topic “Purity in a Porn-Filled Planet”. $31 per person (or $23 concession). Register online at www.oakflatsanglican.com/mensdinner.

Gong Men’s Day – save the date

Join us on Saturday 16th June, 8.30am to 2pm, or 5pm to 9.30pm at Dapto Anglican for a great day of teaching and encouragement for the men of our region. For more information check out www.gongmensday.org.

Free desk and cupboards

In aid of decluttering the church office, a desk has been donated for Val to use. Therefore we now need to remove the old desk and cupboards. Please let us know via comment card or email office@oakflatsanglican.com if you would like them for free.
