My Job – Promote love among Christians

God is invisible. This is a sticking point for many people who are not Christians, and often a challenge for those who are!

We display no objects or images of God to worship; and Jesus Christ, the image of the invisible God is currently at the right hand of the Father in heaven. In the time between his first coming and his second, how are we to get people to believe that God exists?

The apostle John writes:

No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God lives in us and his love is made complete in us. (1 John 4:12)

Presently, the visible display of God to the world, is the active love of Christians towards one another. God once revealed himself in Jesus the Son, and now he reveals himself to the world in the church as it speaks the gospel and displays his love. Therefore, it is the job of church leaders to promote such love.

Will you maintain and promote, to the best of your ability, quietness, peace and love among all Christian people, especially among those who are committed to your care? (AAPB)

As our fellowship with God the Father, Son and Spirit (1 John 1:3, 2 Corinthians 13:14) shapes our fellowship with one another, we exhibit God’s character. So, with quietness, peace and love towards one another, and let us use our actions to make God visible to the world.
