- Who we are
- What we do
Easter is the time we remember that Jesus brings forgiveness to all those who come to him for a fresh start.
Yet for most people, Easter is just a time for public holidays, chocolate eggs, and a giant bunny.
The only way we can change our world from missing the true point about Easter is by telling people what Jesus brings through Easter.
Whether it’s at work, school, or with our family, neighbours and friends, tell them that you love Easter because it’s when you celebrate how Jesus brings forgiveness and how Jesus brings hope in the face of death.
And most of all, if you’re chatting to someone who doesn’t know Jesus, then invite them to our three ‘Jesus brings’ services on Good Friday, Easter Sunday and the Sunday after that, so they can hear Adam tell us about the forgiveness that Jesus brings because of Easter.
It might come as a surprise, but Jesus was one of the most anti-religious people to ever walk the planet.
Instead of rewarding the religious leaders, he called them hypocrites because of the way they misrepresented God.
He did this because Christianity is not about how people climb up to God by doing religious acts, but instead about how God climbs down to us in order to save us.
As we read in Titus, “when the kindness and love of God our Saviour appeared, he saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy.” (3:4-5)
This is why Jesus brings freedom from religion! For, “in his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead” (1 Peter 1:3).
Are you free from religion?
