Being a follower of Jesus can mean that you stick out like a sore thumb in a world that seeks to live apart from God's authority. This can lead followers of Jesus to suffer in many ways. In 1 Peter we see that the Christian life of submission is radically different, isn't always easy, will require a defence but will ultimately pay off in the end.
