Care for kids

kids-skippingAs the Royal Commission into Institutional Child Sexual Abuse undertakes its important work, we continue to hear stories of how children and young people have been tragically affected.

Our church is committed to providing the best form of protection possible to children and youth as we share with them our real hope in the real Jesus.

To make sure we do this properly, all people involved in leading kids are required by law to complete an official Working With Children Check (WWCC).

In addition, the Anglican Diocese of Sydney requires all children and youth ministry volunteers to undertake approved Safe Ministry training through Youthworks.

Our church will be hosting a regional training session on Saturday 14th March at 8.45am, and it’s for all people who lead children, including crèche, TOTS, Kids’ Club, Andy’s, CHAOS, Kids at 5 and 9, SRE and any other ministry to people under 18.

If you’ve done the course before, then you only need a two-hour refresher (special price of $20), or if you’ve not trained in the past three years, you need the full four-hour course (special price of $40). RSVP by emailing office@oakflatsanglican.com and bring your money on the day. If you need some financial help, we can subsidise your training cost.

Please pray that there will be justice and mercy for those who have experienced child sexual abuse, and that those who lead children will be wise and godly.

Grace and peace,

Jodie.
