God has made us with individual tastes and preferences.
We have different styles and colours of clothing and hair.
We enjoy different music, movies and sports.
Often the things we like are the same as others who are the same age or stage as us.
That’s why some churches choose to make each of their services different in style.
Some are more traditional, and others are more contemporary.
But that often means that the oldies and the youngies often don’t sit together at church on Sundays.
At Oak Flats Anglican we want all ages together at all our Sunday services.
So from this week, we’re going to experiment with making both our services identical.
We also plan to launch a 9am kids’ program in the coming weeks that is the same as our 5pm one.
This means that church may not perfectly match our personal preferences.
But it will mean that we’ll have all ages together at every Sunday service.
And we think that’s something that’s pretty special.
