There is a deep reluctance these days to commit. It's certainly a 'Gen Y' problem, but it affects us all.
Today in 1 Samuel 10 we see that Saul is reluctant to lead, and some of God's people are reluctant to follow.
We will be reminded that there is always the choice between following God's king and rejecting God's king.
And the challenge for us will be whether or not we will put our trust in God's king.
This leads to these three questions for all of us:
What areas of my life am I unwilling to follow Jesus as king?
What areas of my life am I still declaring independence in?
What parts of my life have I been unwilling to commit to Jesus because I think that I have a better offer?
