Whether it is a fiery ordeal or niggling little insults following Jesus won't make you popular. With this in mind how are followers of Jesus to understand the persecution that many of them face? From 1 Peter 4:12 - 19 we will see that real persecution shouldn't surprise us in fact real persecution should lead us to rejoice as we participate in the sufferings of Christ provided the persecution comes for the right reasons. In spite of the hardship many Christians face we will see that real persecution prepares us for the judgement that is coming to all people and so followers of Jesus should commit their lives to God and seek to live his way, even if it brings more persecution.
