A word of encouragement

Thank you for the way in which you all have continued to respond to the challenges COVID19 presents to us as a church. It seems as though each fortnight brings new changes to how we do things. Nevertheless, I continue to see in you all a good spirit in facing these trials so far.

Whether we have been in lockdown, reopening, physically-distancing or humming away to the songs we would so dearly love to sing together, you continue to remain focused on the Lord Jesus, and in turn what is best for one another.

This reminds me of Philippians chapter 2. There Paul writes:

Therefore if you have any encouragement from being united with Christ, if any comfort from his love, if any common sharing in the Spirit, if any tenderness and compassion, then make my joy complete by being like-minded, having the same love, being one in spirit and of one mind. Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others. (Philippians 2:1-4)

Changes and challenges will continue to come our way. But be encouraged by Christ and grow more and more in the gift of valuing others above yourself.
